Spooky Bodies Update: Procedural Ground, New Features, and Fixes!

Hey folks,

A month has passed since gamescom 2024, and we're excited to bring you a fresh update for Spooky Bodies! This update introduces new features and improvements, along with several important bug fixes.

What's New:

Procedural Ground: One of the major upgrades in this update is the new procedural ground generation system. Gone are the days of repetitive ground tiles - now the ground is procedurally generated, making it look more natural and organic, blending seamlessly into the game world.

Pause Menu: You can now pause the game! In the pause menu, you'll be able to adjust audio settings or return to the main menu at any time.

Audio System: The world of Spooky Bodies has been pretty quiet up until now, but we've implemented our new audio system. You’ll hear placeholder sound effects for the user interface and a temporary background theme, with more to come in future updates.

Fixes and Improvements:

Main Menu: We've completely redesigned the main menu to offer a cleaner, more intuitive experience especially for the demo.

Level Adjustments: We've made changes to several levels. Some tweaks involve adjusting ground tiles, while in other areas, we've removed bodies to improve puzzle readability.

Campaign Map: We’ve slightly improved the 2D Map for the campaign with new Sprites. Let us know what you think about it!

VSync Activation: We’ve enabled VSync to enhance performance and address certain graphical issues that players were encountering.

Mesh Updates: Minor adjustments were made to improve the appearance of some 3D objects, making them look smoother and more polished.

Wall and Ground Collision Bugs: You should no longer fall through walls or the ground, thanks to fixes for collision detection. If you still encounter any issues like this, please let us know on Discord or in the comments!

Movement Speed: The movement speed is now independent of your frame rate, ensuring a consistent experience across different hardware setups.

Minor Bug Fixes: Lastly, we've addressed a number of smaller bugs that were causing crashes, slowdowns, or other disruptions.

We hope you enjoy these improvements! As always, feel free to share your feedback with us on Discord or in the comments section. Your input helps us make Spooky Bodies the best it can be.

Thanks for playing, and stay spooky!
